Supplemental Educational Services (SES) are additional academic instruction designed to increase academic achievement of students who attend schools that are in need of improvement. These services may include academic assistance such as tutoring, remediation and other educational interventions.
The services must be consistent with the content and instruction used by The Albert Gallatin School District and they must be aligned with the state's academic content standards. SES is provided by organizations that are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The services must be provided after-school, on a Saturday or during the summer.
Eligible students are those that are low-income and who attend Title I schools that are in their third year or more of School Improvement. This would be schools that are in School Improvement II, Corrective Action I or Corrective Action II.
