We are informing you that we have experienced the presence of another case of COVID-19 at the Masontown Elementary School. At this time and throughout the investigative process we have been following the guidance of the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH). Embedded within this guidance, please be aware that the DOH will conduct all contact tracing and notification of individuals that may require further instruction and information. The infected individual is an employee, is under quarantine, and was last in the school on March 2, 2021. The building will be cleaned and disinfected, as well as deep cleaned with the electrostatic sprayers. Due to this being the third positive case in Masontown Elementary School in a fourteen-day period, Masontown Elementary School will be utilizing our 100% remote instruction model for the remainder of this week, March 3rd, 4th and 5th. Masontown Elementary School will return to in-person instruction on Monday, March 8, 2021. All teachers and support staff will work from home during these three days of remote instruction. Please contact the school if you have any questions.
In closing, the Albert Gallatin Area School District is concerned about the health and well-being of you, your family, and the general public during this outbreak. We understand that this is a difficult time and that some individuals may need additional support during this period. Please reach out to us if you or your family need additional assistance regarding this correspondence.
