HOMECOMING: Sept. 28, 2018

Students will STAY AFTER SCHOOL that day and get ready at South. We will have a short rehearsal, then at 4:00 we will break for  pizza. After they eat, students will load the equipment bus and change into their uniforms. We must depart by 5:25. We will need parents to help with feeding the band, uniform emergencies, 2-3 bus chaperones, a nurse, and someone to help load/unload equipment. At this point we are doing the same as last year which is dropping the students and their belongings at D. Ferd Swaney. They will take all of their belongings to a designated area in the school (likely the cafeteria). We will line up outside of the school and walk over to the front of the high school where the parade begins. After the parade, parents/guardians must come over to D. Ferd to get their child. We are hoping this is a safer, more secure environment for parent pick-up. Arrangements will need to be made ahead of time for students who are participating in other Homecoming activities (cheerleading, sports teams, etc.).

CLEARANCES: Everyone must have clearances to chaperone.

FUNDRAISER: WE NEED IDEAS

Last year we introduced the “Buy Out” option. This allowed parents to pay one fee and be done with fundraising. Otherwise, they are expected to participate. We have done: pepperoni rolls, strip tickets, raffle tickets.

Fundraising Committee: A group of volunteers in charge of coordinating and recording information for our fundraisers. Shared Excel sheet? Members: Rhonda Daniels, Gerrianna Mack, Tammy Bixler, Rachelle Miller

Other fundraisers: Riverside Market Hoagies, Pepperoni Rolls

Raffle License: Small Games of Chance fundraising committee has decided not to use raffles at this time.

SPRING TRIP: Nothing is planned yet. Let Mrs. Kendall know if you hear of something that might be interesting. We have travelled to: Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Morgantown, and Cleveland, OH.

STOMP is coming to Morgantown in January.

OTHER ISSUES:
