Parents/Guardians/Students:
As a follow-up, I would like to reiterate the safety and
well-being of our students, faculty and staff is the number one priority of the
Albert Gallatin Area School District. The district would like to make all
students, parents and guardians aware that any threat of violence either in
school, while riding a school bus or on social media, will be fully
investigated. The student could face
disciplinary action and legal consequences.
Students exercising bad judgement by making threatening statements could
cause panic and could potentially result in a catastrophe.
That being said, we encourage parents and guardians to have
a conversation with your child(ren) about the seriousness of making threats in
a school setting or on social media. Please take the opportunity to explain to your
child(ren) that this is not a time to make statements in a joking manner in
school or on social media.
Student safety needs to be a district and community effort. We
thank each of you for your continued effort in helping us make our schools and
community safe. If you have any
questions or concerns, please contact your school Principal or my office.
Sincerely,
Christopher Pegg
Superintendent
