REGISTRATION SCHEDULE: 2020 - 2021
The
schedule for the Albert Gallatin Area School District Kindergarten Registration
is as follows: (9:00 a.m. till 2:30
p.m.)
A.L. Wilson Elementary Monday, March 30,
2020
Friendship Hill Elementary Tuesday,
March 31, 2020
Masontown Elementary Wednesday, April 1, 2020
George J. Plava Elementary Thursday, April 2, 2020
Smithfield Elementary Friday, April 3,
2020
To be
eligible for kindergarten, a child must be five (5) years of age on or before
August 31, 2020. To be eligible for
first grade, a child must be six (6) on or before August 31, 2020. Children who are currently enrolled in the
district’s kindergarten program need not register for first grade.
Parents
must present their child’s official “Certificate
of Birth” from the state in which their child was born (not the certificate
from the hospital), residency
verification, and the immunization
record at the time of kindergarten registration. The immunization record must include the
following:
FOR ATTENDANCE IN ALL GRADES SCHOOL
REGULATIONS
ü 4 doses of
tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (1 dose on or after the 4th
birthday)*
ü 4 doses of polio
(4th dose on or after the 4th birthday and at least 6 months
after previous dose given)**
ü 2 doses of
measles, mumps, rubella***
ü 3 doses of
hepatitis B
ü 2 doses of
varicella (chickenpox) or evidence of immunity
* Usually given as DTP or
DTaP or if medically advisable, DT or Td
** A fourth dose is not necessary
if the third dose was administered at age 4 years or older
and at least 6 months after the previous dose
*** Usually given as MMR
The kindergarten registration includes
a vision, speech, and kindergarten screening test(s).
Children
who will be moving into the Albert Gallatin Area School District should also
register for school at this time. Residency verification may be confirmed by presenting one of the
following:
- Deed to home
- Rental Agreement
- Mortgage Receipt
- Current Utility Bill
Refer all
questions to your local school.
Packets
will be available at each Elementary School prior to registration.
