PTO Scholastic Book Fair

Our PTO Book Fair is all day on October 5 and the morning of October 6 in the Art/Music Room. Thank you to the volunteers who will work the book fair and help our students.

Fire Safety Week

Fire Prevention Week is the week of October 9-13. Masontown Fire Department will visit our school on Wednesday, October 11 @ 9:30 a.m. for a school-wide program. Weather permitting the students will have an opportunity to inspect a fire truck. HOME TIP: Make a safety escape plan for your home with a meeting place as part of Fire Prevention Week.

SCHOOL STORE OPENS

School Store will be on Wednesday, October 11 and Thursday, October 12 in the lobby from 8:15 – 8:45 a.m.

Progress Reports

Progress Reports will be sent in Wednesday Folder on October 11 with students who are making a C or below average in class. Special education teachers will report progress on goals.

Bully Prevention Month – Wear PURPLE

Please wear PURPLE on Friday, October 13, as we want to knock out bullying at Masontown Elementary School.

Bus Safety

Bus Safety Week is the week of October 16-20. All students will participate in bus evacuation drills with Mr. Pegg, AG Transportation Coordinator. Students should dress comfortably with tennis shoes and pants that week.

Make Up Picture Day

Make Up Picture Day is on Tuesday, October 17. If you are unhappy with the proof or package you MUST return the proof or photos to the school.

Aloha! It’s Kona Ice!

Wear your favorite Hawaiian Luau shirt or clothing on Wednesday, October 18. Kona Ice will visit our school in the afternoon around 1:15 p.m.

Red Ribbon Week

Masontown Elementary will celebrate Red Ribbon Week from October 27th – 31st to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs. Throughout the week, students will participate in activities that promote drug-free, healthy lifestyles. See Red Ribbon Week flyer in Wed. Folder for more information. Be sure to have your child wear their red bracelet every day that week. (Students will get their bracelet on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017.)

Fall Festival

Fall Festival is Friday, October 27. Students may wear their favorite fall T-shirt or sweatshirt. Volunteers will be contacted by PTO and will be assigned a station that day. Teachers will supervise students. If the weather is favorable, we will be outside and if not, the activities will take place indoors in the cafeteria.

October Tweet Party

We will have a Tweet Party on Halloween -- October 31, 2017 for tweet winners at 1:00 p.m.

Carnegie Science Center Program

PK-5 students are invited to watch the C.S.C. Program, Solar Quest at 1:30 p.m. on Halloween in the cafeteria.
