About Our School

A.L. Wilson Elementary is part of the Albert Gallatin Area School District in southwestern Pennsylvania in Fayette County. We are located 5 miles south of Uniontown, PA in the borough of Fairchance, PA. The southern end of the Albert Gallatin School District borders West Virginia. Pittsburgh is located approximately 50 miles north of A.L. Wilson and Morgantown, West Virginia is located approximately 15 miles to the south. Our district is a large, rural area consisting of 144 square miles. The student population at Albert Gallatin School District is 3,100 with 360 students attending A.L. Wilson. Our elementary school houses kindergarten through fifth grade students, provides modern, safe facilities and an excellent learning environment. Our School has a Library/Media Center with a computerized Cataloging system. A separate computer lab is adjacent to the Library. Our school utilizes a one to one chromebook initiative for use by the students. Closed circuit television systems are also available for instructional use. Our students moved into a new school building in August 2008. Our students receive instruction from five specialist instructors in the subjects of Art, Computer Literacy, Library Sciences, Physical Education and Music.
